I’ve been in and around this river and woods for around 10 years. That’s why I was not going over my waist in the creek. But if I had gotten swept away there’s plenty of stuff to grab hold of.

The river was not up when Jasper ran off and he was full grown. I think it was either hogs or coyotes that got him. She never tried to lead us to him.

I think he's sitting on someone's sofa, chewing a bone. That's what I want to think.

The Ouiskichitto River is really shallow and sandy, but it’s also fast and cold. Sometimes the campers do more carrying than canoeing. The beaches and sandbars are always shifting based on floods and whatnot.

Several summers back I was playing in the river with friends and family. I was sitting on this tree that was in the sand but also out of the water. We were trying to walk up the trunk and jump in. I turned around and saw a snake and I stood straight up out of the water and screamed “SNAKE!” and jumped as far as I could. I’m more scared of piles of leaves under bushes or picnic tables than the river for snakes.

Yum, my older boy loves shrimp alfredo. I need to make him butter and garlic shrimp pasta next.

She sure doesn't have hound ears. I love long velvety dog ears. We had Ridgebacks (sight hounds) and they never howled, rarely barked either, but they had lovely ears!
