I’m born and raised (literally own the house I grew up in, three blocks from the house my husband grew up in), and I still find it too hot in the summer! We are planning for land up north a bit.

I know we are going to use fans, an evaporative cooler, large ice blocks in their water, and my husband mentioned a plan for some sort of chicken cooler (I didn’t question him further... so who knows what that means?!).

I gave my husband a bunch of breeds to choose from based on the research I had done, and he chose the Black Australorps because he likes their colors. I’m okay with that!

I wish my hubby would be interested in chickens, or quail, or bunnies or guineas or goats or any animals at all. He does look at the birds that come to the bird feeder.

I need to get layer pellets. Hate to buy feed when it's raining, though. Maybe I will just clear out the fridge... have some oldish bread too, and tide them over until tomorrow.
