Granny's gone and done it again

Fig trees!

Soil is 90% sand already. There’s a quarry a couple miles down the road. But most of the camp has standing water when we get summer rains.

One of my chicken customers has a big fig tree on each corner of his chicken run. He loves it.
Dont plant it deep, build a mound so some of the water wicks away.

I dont know what that other thing is either. aguava ?
Pineapple guava. Tropical tasting.

My Dad grew a nice fig tree in FL and someone( thinking Hubby) cut it down after Dad passed away. He said it was ugly.
To each, their own. I like them, especially in the summer... spreading and broad green leaves... they made the best forts when we were kids.

I see a big difference in kitty already ! He is all coon too ! Nice , me likey .
Scooty is cutie reminds me of frosty except she never plays with me . Neither does Star.
Sis's cat is female. Blossom very small for a Maine Coon, but has the big muzzle. She weights a lot more than she looks. Quite a character!
Scooty-patootie is constantly bringing me soggy toys to play with him. :sick

Honestly, I think I would too unless the birds like them. Thats gross.
What's gross? Birds eat ripe figs.

I’m strange I guess. I’ve debated tossing a fig tree or two in chicken area.
I put mine out in the hens' yard. It will give them good hawk cover and shade in the summer. Chickens will eat any fallen fruit too.

Birds also eat worms, dont mean I want to.
Does those have bugs in them too ? Yall was grossing when DD ate crickets but then you eat figs ? Same thing. (not you Wishing, you said good protien)

Fig trees!
What kind did you get? If they are selling them in your area, they should work. If they are dwarf, you can use a container.
Maybe you could build a planter box with a bench around it and plant the fig inside... something like this

Im not sure what to do w/ my beans. Tom wont eat anymore. said they hurt his stomach like before. My butt is sore from them. LOL They taste so good though. Twists bone has the best flavor. I cooked them too long and they are almost refried beans .
Everything in moderation! :old toot-toot!

Okay, so I don't want to gross you out, because you are much more squeamish about food than I am, but I would rather eat an incidental bug any day than rodent feces, but I eat that too. We all do. Do you know that there is an "allowable" percentage of rodent feces in practically all of our cereals and grain products?
My food rule is if it ain't moving and the smell doesn't make me gag, it's edible.
