Possible, but why would Enola die? I'd be really worried about disease. One of the other heifers getting close to calving might have cleaned it off. Doesn't always take a mama to get the sack off, and they aren't really dirty other than that, just wet. (at least with horses)
You didn't have a lightening strike or anything out there, did you?

So then could of been anytime after Tuesday as well and we did hit over 90* yesterday
and right by the creek with deer/horse flies.
