Granny's gone and done it again

Tonight i have been having a great time in the work shop. Got back to work on the quail duplex, the divider is in, the end is covered with hardware cloth, and the crosspieces to hang waterers from are installed. I also cut three pieces for the front.
I nearly lost one of the female CA valley quail today! I was changing the water and she flew out as soon as i opened the door. They are in the barn, but i had two doors open. I quickly closed the nearest one, but she flew towards the other one. Landed on top of the light switch! I grabbed her before she could take off again. They are very flighty birds, and fly more like wild birds than my fat Coturnix.

I got the sun in my eyes on the way home and flipped the visor down. Soon as I did this bumble bee come down and landed on my shirt right on the neck line . First thought out of me was Well, there goes another shirt. I flicked it and it went down the outside and good thing because I was in a construction site and couldnt even pull over. Then I felt my leg stinging and didnt know if it was the bee or just a nerve in my leg. Finally got somewhere I could pull off and found the thing in the floor dead.

I found a BP machine for Tom. exactly what I sold the chickens for $60.00 It had a $5.00 off coupon on the box that I lost somewhere through the store of course. And yes, it was the only one they had. Its a nice one though. Tom can take his own pressures. Its the wrist type.

good evening all.

back from farm and runnings as I stopped there before coming home, picked up 2 more bags of milk replacer for Curly Sue, Vet said the 4 yearlings are in great shape and he will finish paperwork and then let us know. :yesss:

Curly was "squirley" today we got the first stage of the taters dug and they are laying on the dirt to "harden off" Will sort and bag them Friday and then go over the garden a couple more times with the single plow and see what else turns up.

Also got all the ditches mowed for the last time this year and before the County MUST BE DONE by date.

Played musical lick tubs today the ones to "empty/low" for the adults to get into do went down for Hailey and the girls and then dropped another one in for Curly to see what she thinks of them.

Brought in eggs today and some of this years chicks are starting to lay.

I have a FLYING hen duck evidently she leaves in the morning and then returns are night.

OH and Rod informed me that there is another brood hen dux in the annex, :th

That could become problematic in a month or so.
