Granny's gone and done it again

Howdy my friends! Checking in for a minute to let ya'll know that I love and miss all of you! I am SO SORRY I haven't been able to keep up with your shenanigans. TYTY for all the Christmas cards!
It's been a REALLY TOUGH coupla weeks for me here! Tons of wonderful boarding dogs for the holidays. So grateful to be busy, need the $$, but so glad that all but 5 have gone home.
My last post, I was expecting my Airedale to whelp 9-10 pups about Dec 20. Well...that didn't go as expected. She had SEVENTEEN!!! WHAT????? Dec 19. 1 was born dead, 2 could not be resuscitated, 7 were born alive at home. Airess was exhausted and had to have an emergency C- sec to deliver the last 7. I almost lost her. 14 pups had to be tube fed at the emergency clinic overnight as I'd been up for 36 hours and Airess was still hospitalized. Brought mom and babies home the next day and set about feeding all of them every 3 hours. Slowly let Airess start nursing. Flash forward...I'm bottle feeding every 6 hours now, to help mommy, she feeds them overnight. Didn't loose a one, they are all fat and sassy. Eyes opened today. Those precious little helpless lives. Whew! We did it!
Hopefully, things will calm down a bit next week. Anyhoo...love you all, hope to be a better friend soon!
Mutt! Happy New Year! Happy Puppies! 14!! That's only slightly less crazy than 17. We will require pics very soon. Airedales must be soooo cute as pups.

Hi Mutt, wow that's a lot of puppy breath. So glad momma survived & is such a good momma, but you must be exhausted. Hopefully momma gets healed up good & that your bottle feeding slows down. I can't even imagine a dog being pregnant with 17 puppies. Rest up Hun & good to hear from you :hugs
