Oh my gosh, will it never end?!

The winds have died down and onshore breeze is supposed to strengthen soon, so humidity will rise which helps. They are getting it contained. And there's a chance of rain... maybe Wed. hope hope hope!
It's not that people are continuing to die... the numbers of missing are increasing because they have had the time to get a more accurate count from the horrendous first days. Most will be elderly and disabled people who could not escape. It will take some time to find everyone, if they even can... ashes among more ashes. What people saw while trying to escape is too horrible to repeat. It's very bad.

The buck (blame) is being passed back and forth between governor and president.

Yes, politicians being political... go figure. The truth is somewhere in the middle. If they would stop trying to score points and listen to each other, we'd all be better off.

He'll be fine. Hopefully he has learned that it is better to get a lot of questions answered not just the most interesting/challenging But since he did well on standardized tests it shows he knows his stuff. It is to bad that rote is a teaching tool. I think it is necessary when a kid is learning addition, subtraction, multiplication, addition. You have to know those. But doing a variation of the same "problem" over and over doesn't help.

Oh dear. That's terrible. Never heard of food poisoning from ham. Maybe a side dish...
