It's a bacteria that lives in the environment, forms spores that can infect bugs or mammals. Cleaning cages and surrounding areas with an antibacterial cleanser and quick disposal of the carcasses can help. It maybe food borne too. Damp food and damp floor could have caused the bacteria to spread. One bird gets it and spreads to all.

Yep. I took all the dry out and put it in a clean dry bag.

I did give everyone different food today. But losing 4/6 chicks was hard.

yes but she scooped out up to 2 inches above the damp stuff right away
