I remember being in the snow in New Jersey, but don't remember any ice storms. Mom probably wouldn't have let us go out. No sidewalks anyway. We did go ice skating on a frozen lake. My ice skates were red rubber galoshes. I was good at spinning.Older brother had skates.![]()
We have an ice rink in our town! It's been here since before we moved here, when the town was much smaller. 120,000 people smaller. It's Snoopy's ice rink. Charles Schultz settled around here and had the rink built, so we are lucky. In fifth grade, everyone at school got to take ice skating lessons! For school!! They still do it today. Both the boys got to go. So anyway, I learned how to ice skate, but not roller skate. No sidewalks here either.
