Granny's gone and done it again

I can't understand my granddaughter but I have been testing her. She understands everything I say. Amazing. I also have a little boy in my Sunday school class. I have a hard time understanding him. But as I listen better I am getting better at it.

He's 4, in pre-k. He'll be 5 in March. He has a significant speech delay. We started speech therapy last year when he was 3.

This is the teachers first year in pre-k, so speech lady thinks that the teacher just lacks experience listening to littles.

Speech lady is over the moon for bubba. She said she nearly cried when the teacher told her the same thing. And I saw the pages and pages of notes the speech lady has taken.

I guess I need to see what the teacher is having trouble with. "I can't understand anything" is not as helpful as saying "to pass testing he needs to perform x,y,z." When I look at the skills, it's stuff he knows or can do. But I'm listening to him with understanding ears. And the speech delay can't count against him, speech lady said.

I offered to sit in class all day every day and help in any way I can. We have a meeting tomorrow, so I'll get more info then.

So he is 4 and is in pre k? Sorry I know I asked before but I don't remember. They give them marks in prek? Like grades?

It is hard not to get defensive but that teacher is new so just hasn't learned much yet.

I don't ask if I can come to class, I just show up and sit there all day to see what exactly is going on.

My first granddaughter went to speech therapy, it helped her immensely, she was also very shy, the class helped her with that also.

Lol bubba is definitely not shy. He's a wildman through and through. He's also a sweet, big-hearted kid.

It's too bad you couldn't have had a snappy comeback for her like,

Yeah you first year teachers do have a quite a learning curve, don't you.

It is really storming out. Afraid there are going to be a lot trees coming down in this storm.

I didnt really get anything done. Cleaned out 3 brooders, did the old age tax credit. made meatloaf sandwiches and lady showed up to do paper work for Robert . That took a couple hrs. away.

Sorry, popped in on a break at work and never made it back in. Yes, I have 20-ish hens and 2 roos with them plus 2 in the bachelor pen and 2 silkies that a neighbor got at the auction but gave to us when HIS neighbors complained.

Naturally they are both roos also. Actually just lost one roo, my oldest, the other day. He wasn`t very old really, 5 or 6? but he had been deposed as the boss and had been a bit poorly (kind of ratty looking, looked like molting). Was surprised he died though. Felt bad, got him from someone who couldn`t keep him because of neighbors. He was my reboot rooster when I started up in chickens again after I had the hip done and rebuilt the pen after a tree fell on part of it. He was my boss roo, then was deposed by a son a couple years ago. Had him in bachelor pen but reshuffled that group and had him back in main pen. He was low man but still a better deal than bachelor pen.
did the pen fall on you or just needed hip surgery ? 20 is a good round # sorry for the loss of your roo. Wishing keeps them til old age. I dont have that luck.
Anyway, welcome to our thread.

That's a lot granny, what is the old age credit? I am older than you and I don't get an old age credit.

She's not a first year, but she's been teaching first grade. They have most of their speech probs worked out by then.
