We had the meetings at school today! I'm feeling MUCH better about everything. Bubba's testing wasn't for pass fail, it's just to see where he scores compared to other children. To "pass" or be considered on mark, he had to recognize 10 letters, and recognize 10 beginning sounds in words. Though 10+10=20, he had to score a 26 to be on mark.

Bubba scored a 54.

He recognized 24 letters (varied in upper or lower case) and 30 beginning sounds. He's above mark in all but one category.

The speech therapist is just SO proud of him, and she's so pleased with his progress. He's still got work to do, but progress is progress!

Way to go, Bubba!!!!!!

Can you feed it to chickens?

That was a question I had too when faced with a considerable amount of leftover seeds - flax seeds are a great source of some very healthy oils, fiber, etc *but* are also very small and rather toughly "shelled" so I was not sure about them being digestible vs. being passed through in whole form. I had actually asked here on BYC at one point - consensus was that ground would guarantee digestion but the birds *may* digest it even whole. I had previously used flax meal in feeding horses but with their different digestion process it was much more likely that whole flax seeds would pass through and give little to no benefit nutritionally.

It won't kill you.

Might actually help.

So you say.......but I, for one, am not willing to take the risk of trying any to find out.......

My present self is going out to look at chickens and pickup dog poop before the next storm hits.

Yeah -- that's something I need to get outside and get done too, nothing better than picking up soggy dog poop. I am kind of missing the sub-freezing temperatures, made cleaning up the yard SO much easier!

I tell ya Mare, a mulching lawn mower in your DS hands and a good shower after is the way to go !

Never been one to take that approach -- dog waste just offers no real benefit in doing so (ie fertilization) and, to me, it's just gross to spread it around out there that way so I'll just keep picking it up.

I dont know what they are called but I want to make one of those things that go underground . I dont like putting in the garbage either but thats what I do. This is supposed to break it down.
