Granny's gone and done it again

Sorry granny. Work then gym then dinner then cleanup. Busy busy day. Haven’t even touched the massive pile of invoices from our two primary materials vendors. Ughhhhhhhh.

Anyways. No power loss here, they were predicting Santa Ana winds to start tomorrow. East/more rural end of my town will likely get the shut off but all signs point to us keeping it. There’s all sorts of tin foil conspiracies about the power shutoff....Oi. Anyway. Yes. The utility companies SHOULD upgrade their infrastructure to be more resilient during high winds. It’s not like Santa Ana or other high winds never happen out here. If it takes some government subsidies fine. Get it done. Government subsidies now would be cheaper than cleanup and the liability of more mega fires down the line...

It’s probably a cost/geographical consideration as well. Burying the line through solid rock...or desert (Hey, flash floods wreak havoc out there), there is a LOT of open/not built on land as well (see desert), mountains, valleys, etc...I don’t know.

Anyway. Quarter after ten. Well past my bedtime. Night all. See y’all tomorrow.

I'd get in big trouble if I made coffee and told DW to drink it!!

800,000 + w/o power. I watched a ton of videos from their channel 7 and the wind wasnt blowing in any of them. Not to say it aint . They are adding more county's to shut down just to be on the safe side and they told people that need electric like oxygen , electric wheel chairs or whatever that they need to prepare for it . They have the veterans center open By Wishing, daylight hrs only where you can come charge your phone or use air cond. max people ,100.
I cant help but think this is wrong. Them old or disabled people that dont have family or money, how are they supposed to prepare? Making sure their life insurance is paid up?
I lived this way myself for a long time but I wasnt dependent on machines to keep me alive . I dont have electric lines running over my house. Didnt take them 5 min. to dig the trench to bury them. Im lucky there. Just seems to me they should be working on stronger supports the wind cant blow down instead of making everyone suffer. I dont think I like Ca.
PG&E declared bankruptcy after Paradise burned. Cut power to avoid a replay of that and other fires or hope they don't happen. Dammed if you do, dammed if you don't (see how I didn't swear there?? :D).

The power can go out for lots of reasons, like squirrels shorting out and blowing a transformer. People who are dependant on 24x7x365 power would be ready for that I would think.

I hope she is OK Alley, sorry she miscarried.

well what ever they have him one isn't working good enough at least not yet.
I don't think anything will work without a serious dietary change. Changes to deal with diabetes, gluten issues, etc is a royal PITA but you do what you gotta do to keep the bad things from happening.

And the courts have recently been decreeing that no, you can’t raise your rates to pay for the damages so...that’s another reason the g&e’s are a little happy to turn off the lights
