Granny's gone and done it again

I cannot mix any straight well water. It's okay. I couldn't keep livebearers alive a few years back, so I probably can't again. I got my eyes set on a tank of tiger barbs. They do well here and I enjoy their zippy action.
I have guppies floating out my ears. One tank w/ angels and apple snails up the you know what. Would LOVE to have a tank of cichlids. One in particular. Its in the peacock family and it is metalic blue w/ white lips.

There are tons of beautiful ciclids aren't there. I have so far avoided them because of reading how they can be aggressive, and some breed like crazy. I know angels are considered ciclids, but I don't count them. :)

I do think about Oscars some day. They are said to be troublemakers. :D

I had 3 babies separated and they just disappeared. I think the betta got in the breeders net and are them and than jumped back out. I haven't seen any more babies since. I think because of my water, but I'm not positive.

I also had one of my older big goldfish die. That one would make a meal, but my husband wasn't interested in it.. I joke, but it is sad to lose my older ones. That one I had since 2004.

Sorry to hear that. When we lived in Mi my outdoor pond housed koi goldfish and some of them were almost 2 ft long. They ate out of my DHs hand and he misses them a ton.

Ya, Not all cichlids are created equal. LOL The shell dwellers are cute as a button. The african are semi aggressive but if they have enough caves they shouldnt fight. Some of them shouldnt even be on the market for sale.
I tried some ram ciclids, but they didn't make it too long here, about a year. They were adorable little things. :).

My pond is only around 300 gallons, so koi were off the list. I can't imagine 3 foot long ones. :love I would miss them too.

thats those little colorful ones w/ odd shaped fins ? They like 80 degree water. I would like to have one of those myself. Its probably a good thing I dont have a fish store close by.
