Granny's gone and done it again

Hi Mare!  Twist got the address.  We are expecting 5+ days of rain starting tomorrow eve.  I should get off this time sucking machine and get things ready!  At least they don't often cancel school for rain!

Zelda, the Brahmas are so pretty.  Our Peach is not an official therapy chicken, but she does make my son feel better!  Did you know that Prostar (on this thread) has a dog named Peach?  It is a good name. I wanted to call the chicken Princess Peach, but the boys wouldn't let me.  It's a character in a game or something.

That I do!

I didn't realize Peep was a buff Orp! My son's favorite pet is our buff, Peach. She's like a little dog. This pic was a few years ago.

Awesome picture!
There is something about BOs --- DS's favorite chicken was a BO (Nugget) - his one request this year is that we get a "Nugget 2.0" -- all three of our BOs were just sweet beyond words, nearly every picture I have of someone holding one of our birds is either Nugget, Fat Amy or Mrs. Patmore.
..send me a pic of twist's wrapped sausage might be worth seeing...

I think I need to go blow off some steam .

Got anything you can bang on with a hammer or throw and break?
That I do!

Too cute!

Even DH got sucked into the joy of chickens by a BO:

This is Fat Amy in this one -- I had looked out from the kitchen and could see him WAAAYYY out in the run sitting there and walked out to see what he was doing (because chickens were not his thing, he just liked the fact that they created things for him to build for me, lol) and there he was with Amy in his lap.

Lordy, we haven't even started building yet and I'm already "nesting" my new coop --- had to run over to DH's work today because he "needed" a new drill (in fairness, he did, his old one finally **** the bed while he was working on the spice rack he's building for me) and I just happened to wind up at the paint section staring at all the paint chips. I think I'm going to do sage with plum trim, at least that's the plan today...ask me again tomorrow.

Something along these shades, just not sure which ones.......

Also spent some time in the PVC aisle plotting and planning on my feed station ideas......

I fixed the chickens heater. Took the whole thing apart, got the new tin Lisa bought me , drilled the hole and rewired it up. checked the lightbulb, It was good. gave it a try, NOTHING DH says its the light bulb. No I just tried the bulb. He kept sticking his hands in the pan . I have no idea why but was truly on my last nerve. I know he was trying to be helpful but How can I do anything with 2 hands stuck in there that dont belong to me ? Roberts eyes are much better then mine but its chicken related. I yelled, loudly for him to come help. He wouldnt touch it but found the problem. The cord further down had been chewed by mice . So a quick splice 3 min. job and Nothing ! My DH who is seriously on my last nerve takes the lightbulb out and puts a new one in.

So it seems when I checked it the first time after I wired it but before I spliced it I blew that bulb as well. So that is back in the coop thawing out water and as long as the mice leave it alone should be fine now. (we know they wont).

Then to CB game cord. same thing splice and tape. No problems there and now I am making chicken and rice soup ? I have chicken, onion, celery, carrots chicken broth and every spice know to man simmering away.

Mare, I love the 2 middle colors together. sage and violet ?

Soup was ok but as much season as I put it there I couldnt really taste it and salted my bowl. Tom ate 2 bowls and CB drank 2 bowls of broth. I hope it helps him some.

Only other thing I wanted to do today I cant . every time I get on FB the computer freezes. That might be a good thing but its gonna eat at me.

Go, Go Granny Fix-alot!!! Too funny about the bulb, just glad it's all fixed! The soup sounds yummy!

Those are the two I'm leaning towards too!!!
Sounds like maybe you're taste buds are just off since everyone else was lapping it up?? Any chance you have a bit of a stuffy nose - that's the worst part of being congested for me, is not being able to taste my darn food!
