Granny's gone and done it again

They put parents in jail for that? Not on CA, of course. They had been fining them, but that just got stopped too. Said it increased truancy for the worst cases.

Granny, I left BYC up a couple hours after we said goodnight. It had logged me off! So guess this is the new BYC. Computer remembers my user name, so no troubles with that.

Are you still having pain this morning?

I have to put my name and password. even just now when I bumped myself off. LOL YES, tons of pain. My knee is not healed yet either.

Happy Fudge Day! (I am starting a new holiday for Feb.2) Groundhog Day is kind of stupid.

She is going to end up in jail just from truencie (sp)of the other children missing so much school

The district out there doesn't mess around with that -- I got a call from them saying they'd "have no choice but to call the truancy officer on us" because DS had missed the first two weeks of school there and they had no record of him being enrolled anywhere else.....well, that was because school here starts a month later than out there so there was no one at the school here to send a request for records/report him being enrolled here yet.

Morning Lisa! We are getting more rain, which I can't complain about, except #2 son left the lid off the garbage can where we store the feeders at night. We got an inch of rain last night so the hens got a very soggy breakfast! Honestly, they don't seem to mind so much, but I am worried about mold.

Oh no! They do love soaked feed - so they'll gobble it up for now, but it will mold quickly -- any chance you might just toss it in a bucket, add more water and set it for a batch of fermented feed?

hi all, took CB to school and got a plan in place. Principal seems to know what he is doing . all he needed to hear was CB was afraid to go home . So if she shows up there to get him family serves will be called and they will take CB and at the pr. suggestion that he lives here and has been they will bring him to me. Or so we hope. They do try to place them with a family member. It5s the best I can do.
Oh, Granny, I am just so sorry that you and CB have to go through all of this. It is such a blessing that he has you, but a shame that he needs to have you (if that makes sense). Because he said that he fears going home it would seem the school, as mandated reporters, should be obligated to make contact with DFS anyway, regardless of whether she tries to pick him up again - because it *should* trigger an automatic investigation into the safety and well-being of the other children as well.

he already reported them to cps . they didnt even talk to CB . I mentioned that today as well. Great idea about fermenting the feed. I would of tossed it not thinking. I am too old to be raising another child but, there it is..

Had a first last night --

my first pink and purple potatoes! Picked up a bag of "rainbow fingerling potatoes" -- not surprisingly, most of them were plain gold potatoes, there were 5-6 pinks and then 2 purples, so DH and I each got 2 pieces of the purple, but at least enough to try. Can't really say if they tasted any different because the recipe I used turned out to be too heavily seasoned to give you much "potato" flavor, but it was kind of a fun change up.
