Happy Fudge Day! (I am starting a new holiday for Feb.2) Groundhog Day is kind of stupid.

You know what's even stupid-er? Valentine's Day. Ugh

Oh no! They do love soaked feed - so they'll gobble it up for now, but it will mold quickly -- any chance you might just toss it in a bucket, add more water and set it for a batch of fermented feed?

Good idea! I did try it with some chick scratch that got dropped in the dog water. It fermented and then got moldy very quickly. That was in summer, so maybe cooler weather won't go bad. Worth a try.

Had a first last night --


my first pink and purple potatoes! Picked up a bag of "rainbow fingerling potatoes" -- not surprisingly, most of them were plain gold potatoes, there were 5-6 pinks and then 2 purples, so DH and I each got 2 pieces of the purple, but at least enough to try. Can't really say if they tasted any different because the recipe I used turned out to be too heavily seasoned to give you much "potato" flavor, but it was kind of a fun change up.

Those are purty! We use the golds all the time. I love them for mashed. I tried some rainbow carrots one time. The boys wouldn't even try them!

I am glad you got my sausage and goodies. The sausage should be fine to re-freeze as long as the seal is still good.

Agreed twist. Not enough coffee in the world today.

Sadly the coffee maker in the office is occupied by one who drinks decaf.
