Granny's gone and done it again

Teach, Have I asked you about your chickens ? How many, what kind ect..?
we started here 5 years ago--12 leghorns, 1 rooster. He got nasty toward daughter and granddaughter and was delicious. Each spring we have added 6-8 more. After fox, hawks, coyotes currently have mix of 5 original ladies and 6 amerucaunas(?) and 8 mixed something or others! no roosters--just content ladies. Daughter and son in law moved coop up near their house on our farm---so I just visit them, gather eggs and they do the grunt work!

Thats the best kind of chickens to have ! LOL I really miss mine but not the work. I was gifted a dozen farm fresh eggs last thursday and I was so tempted to put them in my bator. We ate them when Toms DD came up.

since getting chickens, I have become an egg snob. Will only use store eggs as last resort. But daughter got dozen duck eggs from neighbor---OMG! better than anything!
I didnt care for the duck eggs . I only used one or 2 though. I didnt fry them I used them in cooking.

Ta da!
