I found 1 mole dead on the porch and 3 more moles dead outside of the garage today. The cats have been busy.

Not certain, but she's probably a blue Australorp (the blue from blue/black/splash genes). I was told they are good winter layers and she is proving to be that.

Blue orps look similar to that one. They are very pretty.

Yes, I don't understand why they kill them (and shrews) but don't eat them. They just deliver them, as if they were little gifts. Or perhaps, proof that they are "on the job."
