Granny's gone and done it again

I like the solid colored ones too. Have you thought about bleaching this and dying it a different color? Cotton would be easy. There are special dyes for polyester too.

no not at all...interesting.

but i want this one to be bigger...
it only hangs about 6 inches over each side of the bed...
i want ti to be more like a bedspread i guess is what you call it..
to hang further down on each side of the bed.
Ive been looking in the store but can't find anything big enough.

what about this pattern...if straight lines go wonky...

It'll do the quilting, not the embroidery.

It's free motion. So imagine you're sewing without the pressure foot down. It's wild and crazy, but still pretty much limited to forward motion. With the spring/hopper foot you can drop the feed dogs (mine don't drop, they have a cover) and now you can quilt in any direction.

I was quilting a design in a blanket, and following a castle in the print. I'd have to stop and rotate the entire project because I couldn't do the free-motion.
I only know how to embroider by hand anyway. Guess you need a different machine for that too.

Wishing, that top pic isn't totally a crazy quilt. It's a wonky star; pretty sure I've seen the pattern before.
A wonky star?

They have names for everything! I was showing it for the quilting more then the blocks.

If this Granny can teach me the basics..like how to even put thread in it...I will practice and I'll research/watch more videos.
I wouldn't mind practicing a little first.
But I think I have my mind made up...(for tonight!!)

I am going to make a quilt!
LOL

Paper piecing! I've never tried it, but for some reason I think it would appeal to you! But, I might be wrong. Paper-piecing makes very crisp lines.

I saw this sewing show a while back on our PBS station..
all the lady did was basically type something into a computer and the darn machine did everything by itself..
even changed thread colors!
I think it comes on on the weekends..which reminds me to look for it in the morning.

Does anyone remember the TV Guide?
the paper one you had to buy at the grocery store?
