Granny's gone and done it again

That's how Peach's litter was. There was her and another one with the short german coat and that coloring, couple with rottie coats, couple with retriever coats....I never realized that puppy litters could have different sires in the same litter!
Yeah, bc the female drops eggs over several days. My sister worked for a vet at the time and explained that to me.

Haha, I hope that maybe if I get a good dog I can get on a breeding contract... I'd be honored to be a dog breeder
Lot of work, lot of science behind the genetics, etc etc. My neighbor is saddened I won't let her breed her yet-unacquired lab to Goose...my breeder knows her crap, but I don't want to have a breeding that could have issues down the line. And I would feel horrible if anything happened to the mom-dog.

well good thing she did get a spay abort. Imagine those sibling puppies running around. They'd be stupid 🤣
Yup, and in a year there'd be 20 puppies where you might have just had five. I'm not saying YOU (Granny) would have had 20 puppies, I'm saying each of those puppies would probably have been making puppies.

Yeah, I know. My dog will have all its health testing, and I'll have somebody mentor me through the process.

That's why I'm not a breeder. The cost alone of getting GOOD breeding stock! And the time and effort of becoming knowledgeable about genetics, yikes! And to just breed casually without doing the homework? Nuh-uh. Not when 3 million or so dogs are put down every year bc there aren't enough homes for them, and a good percent of those are purebred, many of them AKC registerable? No. Just, no.
