Granny's gone and done it again

I do too. Hopefully next year I'll be able to buy discounted Easter lilies and plant them. I'm a bit bummed about my mint garden. One of the pullets got in there and decimated it. I don't see any mint growing in there at all this year, just weeds. :hit
I'll bet you won't have to buy it again. Just ask around. There's always someone with waaaaaay too much invading where it shouldn't. They'll likely be more than happy to share! The same concept goes for hosta. Unless you're looking for a specific variety, I never recommend buying hosta. There's always someone around willing to let you dig some up!

Apparently. I had 4 different kinds of mint in there. When I re-plant it, I will make it chicken proof!
If they just took it to the ground I believe they will come back. Its too early yet. Because they disturbed the roots that part will repair itself first. Wait a couple weeks maybe.

If you put a screen of hardware cloth mounted on 1x or 2x boards over it, the plants will grow up through it, but your chickens can't get to the roots. Once the plants are established, you'll never see the screen!

All that work.. Im sorry MC. Will you get it looked at to see if that's the problem?
I see my GP next month and I'll point it out to him but as for my ortho, he moved south and the area just has a NP taking over for him for the time being. I've got partial strength back in that arm and the rotator cuff repair seems to be holding but it's been 11 months now since the surgery and I had one round of bursitis in it in September and probably another round in it now. It was too painful the first time to even consider doing it again without guarantees that just aren't there.

Obey is such a terrible word to me. I was married the first time they were using love, honor and obey. I asked the pastor to take it out. I would not allow that to be part of my vows.
Aww I hate how people twist what the word of God says!! Men aren't to be treating women like just some car they own or something..!!

  • Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.
  • Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.
  • For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.
  • Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so [let] the wives [be] to their own husbands in every thing.
  • Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;
  • That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,
  • That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.
  • So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.
  • For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church:
  • For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.
  • For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.
  • This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.
  • Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife [see] that she reverence [her] husband.
Ephesians 5: 21-33

The whole twist of obey really bothers me. I've heard my dad use that against my mom and twist the word of God.

I had three different kinds of mint in 2 beds and for some reason most of it died out one winter. I mean seriously? I didn't think you could kill that stuff with a blow torch! Thinking about starting a new bed this year if I can salvage any small starts from the old bed because I love mint tea.
