the red gold are a beautiful bird. I was thinking more along the lines of eye candy for a trio and food for the freezer. I guess I need to eat one first. My reservations are they might be too friendly/pretty to where I wouldnt want to eat them. They are not expensive here. I am working for the seramas I need something to work for me and I /family only like white meat.

pheasant is mainly all white meat.

Which is why I don't hunt them. We were raise you shoot/catch it you eat it.

but are they gamey ? like chicken or tough ? I could be grabbing a fishing pole and putting some meat in the freezer that way too.

after re-reading this might be the "meat" bird for you or at least the culls won't go to waste.

Isn't it amazing how one person's simple decision can have such widespread consequences. Lucky for all the native game birds they didn't bring over any diseases.
