the red gold are a beautiful bird. I was thinking more along the lines of eye candy for a trio and food for the freezer. I guess I need to eat one first. My reservations are they might be too friendly/pretty to where I wouldnt want to eat them. They are not expensive here. I am working for the seramas I need something to work for me and I /family only like white meat.

not to bad from what I remember, it a little gamey you can soak the meat in salted water over night (in the fridge) that will help we ALWAYS do that with grouse (sharp tailed variety)
after re-reading this might be the "meat" bird for you or at least the culls won't go to waste.
