Granny's gone and done it again

Thats a pretty good life for polish. Wishing has pretty old hens too. I dont remember how old but OLD! lol
I didnt know you kept quail. Did you eat them? I know their pretty good. I wanted to keep them but just wasnt up to it.
Robert is still asking me to get a goat. Said he would take care of it.
You just reminded me of the girl who raised quail in her apartment and moderated a website about them. She was on this thread practically every night until a couple months ago. Just up and dissapeared. She was trying to talk you into raising quail.

The old timers called the liquid on top hooch and drank it!

I add a quarter cup of flour to the starter out of the fridge and stir it in and leave it on the counter. after several hours, it will bubble. I use it then to make bread.

After taking out the starter for the recipe, I will discard enough to leave a cup in the jar and then add a cup of flour and a cup of water.

Starter does get gloppy! Do you have a nice jar for the starter now?
Well.... The thing is, I don't need to bake bread any time soon! I may still have a loaf in the freezer. Hmmm. Perhaps Sunday I could make a batch of biscuits and freeze them. What I'm concerned about is that my starter is NOT gloppy! It's thin, like pancake batter. And yes, I do have two lovely jars like the ones you recommended. I'm trying to get two good batches going so I can share one with a neighbor.

When I turn 65 and have to go to medicare, the current insurance covers the difference.
We were suppose to have that but when stockton went bankrupt all our union contracts were broken. We are just out of insurance until Medicare kicks in.

Got any potassium? When anyone was achy, my gramma always said... Eat a banana! There are other and better sources of potassium... avocados, spinach, potatoes, sweet potatoes, beans, & more... it's a long list.
Magnesium is very helpful also. I take a product for all three, sodium, pot, magnesium. If I can’t sleep at night I take more mag.

Yes. I was just talking to my dad about this yesterday, trying to figure out how to run the well pump if pg&e PSPSed us last night. I was thinking about a dedicated solar panel/battery combo, but I think a big water storage tank would be easier. Keep me from freaking out during all the power outages. I can live without power fairly easily, except for the water. The well is up hill, so no problem that way.
We need to do the same. We now have two generators. We need a way to hand pump water if the electric goes out
