We have Raley's which is the same ownership as Krogers. They have great sales, but the regular prices make me wince. I went to Raley's yesterday just for the pumpkins they had on sale. 3 big ones for $10. Anywhere else it's $5-6 each. I figure there's enough kids here now we might just have Halloween this year. I love pumpkins, love the fall.

Raleys is still a family owned chain. They sold stores to Kroger in Nevada. Headquarters is in West Sacramento and they operate 126 stores.

In September 2002, Kroger announced plans to purchase Raley's 18 store locations in Las Vegas, with intentions of converting them into Smith's and Food 4 Less stores.[15][16][17] Raley's stated that slow growth and local competition were reasons for selling the stores. The revenue from the sale was to be used to build and renovate stores in Reno, Nevada, and northern California.[18] The Federal Trade Commission approved the sale in November 2002. Raley's stores in Las Vegas began closing later that month.[18][19][20]

My brother and I flew out to FL on passes to see Disney World. It was before Epcott opened. To me it was very much the same as Disneyland. I was 14. We got stuck overnight at O'Hare (Chicago airport) trying to get home. Slept on the floor leaning up against a wall. There was room on a morning flight, thankfully. All this before cell phones. I don't think my parents were worried at all.

I watched an episode of the Mentalist, set in Sacramento. It the same day the characters went to Sonoma and then to LA! When they were back in Sacramento, the sun was still up.

That's what I get for only reading a headline! I was trying to bring up the Raley's sale flyer online (since they don't send them out to us anymore) and there were articles about joining up with Krogers, but I didn't read about it.
