Granny's gone and done it again

Ah, she's heating up her coffee. I had guineas once too. I also had horses. When we finally butchered those birds, I saw where all my horses' sweet feed had been going! Those birds had been gobbling it up! And I had chickens too, but I don't think the guineas ever roosted with them. They slept in trees.

they did ok with the chickens til they wanted to breed then the male got a little picky who was in his area. I got them their own place and they were doing great. A neighbor had them and all of his came here to live thru the winter then come spring all mine followed his home. Never seen them again after that.
Sounds like I would need to keep them fenced in...my neighbors wouldn't appreciate guineas. :hmm

Their relationship with chickens is a problem for sure. I would love to have a few females though...thanks for the info.

You would need to keep them caged. Covered over the top. They fly. Like wild turkeys fly.

I remember guineas at my grandmother's place. They weren't hers. The neighbors' would come over. They were noisy.
Very noisy! People say they make good watchdogs but I disagree. They are so noisy after a while you just tune them out. Or try to!
