All I know is that the mother is NOT a royal according to Mike,
I will be heading out there sometime tomorrow to figure out who the mom is and get pics and maybe the sex.

Any idea why?

No idea. It was an egg that had been in the fridge for over a week. That us probably part of it. I have noticed with fresh eggs I have a lowere pip rate but all that pip hatch. With refridgerated eggs, I have a high pip rate but they are DIS or have neurological issues. Some are healthy. I had 4 refridgerated eggs this time around. 1 infertile, 1 pipped but DIS, 1 has neurological issues, and 1 is healthy.

well got 9 pints and 6 1/2 pints of spiced apple sauce out of the "mess" I started with yesterday. Kitchen is cleaned up other then the jars to haul downstairs to the pantry/root type cellar
