So, we got a bit of a surprise while the kids were here visiting -- they let us in on a little secret.......I'm officially a mother-in-law.
Turns out those sneaky kids went and got married.....a while ago! It simplified a few things with SIL being able to deal with some of the stuff regarding DD's injury and that ongoing situation as well as the purchase of their house - so they did it "on paper" with the plan of having their wedding as planned, but have since decided it makes more sense to not spend that sort of money on one day when they have a house and lots of other things they want to save for/spend on so kind of had to come out and tell everyone they are married.
DH and I are not in much of a position to object considering we did much the same when we got married because he got unexpected orders and in order for DD and I to be put on them in time we needed to be official - in the mean time we were working on altering the orders a bit as they had him reporting on the day before what we had already set as our wedding date In our case we were able to get things moved back and had our wedding as planned, but had it not worked out we'd have been in the same boat as the kids.
I worry about them being so young, but beyond that could not be happier for them --- SIL fits so well in our family and it is an absolute joy to welcome him officially. I can't believe my baby girl is a married woman..............
