Granny's gone and done it again

showgirls are Silkies x Turkens. I don’t think the barred one is a silkie, Turken, or showgirl though
Here is a better picture of his neck, it has no feathers. If he isn’t a showgirl what is he? FDB66E7D-4026-4279-8922-068A3063E626.jpeg
He is a lot younger in this picture than he is now, I can’t find a good side view of him as an adult.

Yes, I had to look them up. As long as they are loved, that's all that really matters.

I think he is probably the offspring of a showgirl and some other type of chicken. His feathers are not silkied, but frizzled (I think they call it). His feet look blue and he does have some black skin, so probably has some Silkie in his background. Silkies have 5 toes, rather than the standard 4 toes. Have you counted? :)

Thanks! He does have 5 toes.

The black one is a showgirl, and the white one I bought as a silkie, but I am one completely sure if he is a pure silkie? Maybe a satin? Maybe someone on here knows.
It looks like a normal frizzle. If it didn't have the frizzle gene it would look like a satin, smooth feather, non frizzle/non silkie.

Ok, good to know! Whatever those baby’s are I sure do love them 💕! Completely off topic, but I used to have another rooster who was just the sweetest! As a chick he would jump out of the cage and crawl up into my bed to sleep with me (yes, I had them in my bedroom for a while) He acted just like a dog, sadly I had to rehome him because he started attacking others when they got too close to me :(

Also, i’ve heard that a satin is a silkie and cochin mix to create a smooth feathered silkie. Do you think maybe that’s it?
Could be, but somewhere in the breeding is a frizzle gene. That's what gives the feathers the curved flipped up look.
