I just read that the 3 cent stamp was used from 1932 until 1958, 26 years. Post office must have been a lot more stable back then.

It's true. They could be acting out, when in a settled environment they're fine. Or, looking as though they're laid back and easy, but are ready to , let go at any minute.Personality and energy level will be easier to see if the pups are coming from a home. Most animal shelters, and especially the pound, cause a lot of stress and make it hard to judge temperament accurately.
Yes, so it has only doubled in that time. Back at that time, what were we paying for a carton of milk? 50c? Bread, 29c? Eggs, I don't remember but certainly not $4/doz.! Postage is still a pretty good deal when you consider the cost of fuel to transport it and the salaries of the people who sort and move it. IMO.It really doesn't seem that long ago that stamps were 34 cents. 25 or 30 years.
