A lawyer and an Old Lakota are sitting next to each other on a long flight. The lawyer is thinking that 'Indians' are so dumb that he could get over on them easy....
So the lawyer asks if the 'Indian' would like to play a fun game.
The Old Lakota is tired and just wants to take a nap, so he politely declines and tries to catch a few winks. The lawyer persists, and says that the game is a lot of fun.
I ask you a question and if you don't know the answer, you pay me only $5;
you ask me one, and if I don't know the answer, I will pay you $500, he says.
This catches the Old Lakota's attention and to keep the lawyer quiet, he agrees to play the game. The lawyer asks the first question. 'What's the distance from The Earth to the Moon?'
The Old Lakota doesn't say a word, reaches in his pocket pulls out a five-dollar bill, and
hands it to the lawyer.
Now, it's the Old Lakota's turn. He asks the lawyer, 'What goes up a hill with three legs,
and comes down with four?'
The lawyer uses his laptop and searches all references he could find on the Net. He sends e-mails to all the smart friends he knows, all to no avail.
After one hour of searching he finally gives up. He wakes up the Indian and
hands him $500. The Old Lakota pockets the $500 and goes right back to sleep.
The lawyer is going nuts not knowing the answer. He wakes the Indian up and asks,
'Well, so what goes up a hill with three legs and comes down with four?'
The Old Lakota reaches in his pocket, hands the lawyer $5 and goes back to sleep. Lol!

So .... GirlChild was driving the '14 Chevy Sonic to town last week and it just died on her. She was able to get to the side of the road but could not get it to start again. Terrified she had run it out of oil or something equally catastrophic, I told her to sit tight and called AAA to come tow it to the dealership. When they were able to diagnose it a week later they said it needs a new battery and alternator, to the tune of about $780. If they also do all the fluids (oil WAS low) and tire rotation, we're looking at over $850. Does this sound right to you guys? Oh, and also I asked about a credit for the alternator core and the gal on the phone in the service dept acted like I was speaking a foreign language. This surprised me, as I have had an alternator replaced once before and there was definitely a credit for letting them have the old alternator core. What do you guys think? Am I about to get ripped off? Should I seek a second opinion?

Everything sounds too expensive these days.
