I shaved a lot today to freeze. Zucchini bread throughout the fall and winter. I'll be shredding more. The plant keeps giving.

Indeed! The more you pick, the more you get. That's bc the plant is trying to produce seed. If you want to stop production, let a fruit get enormous and allow the seeds inside to mature. Then the plant will have accomplished its purpose and can die.

We set the trap last night in case whatever got our Squats hen came back, but ... no takers. DH thinks the heat got her, but ... something definitely got to the carcass. So

After getting those painful deep penetrating shots in both hip joints I can almost walk normal today with out mush pain at all. I love my orthopedic clinic. All the docs in there are great. I got to go get Rosie and bring her back inside for the diaper and let her supervise her mom again today. Once all the other chickens are loose chasing bugs I'm going to take a nap. Y'all carry one.

Morning all, slept ok except my back and hip is hurting pretty bad. Hope everyones day is going ok. Its hot outside here. I found a cuke on my plant . Its about 3-4 inches already. Makes me wish I had the teeth to just take a big bite out of it! I hope they taste good. Last time they were very bitter.

Makes me wish I had the teeth to just take a big bite out of it! I hope they taste good. Last time they were very bitter.

Do you know how to hand pollinate the cukes if bees don't. People that don't understand cukes and squash need a tip on how to be a bee. There are male flowers and female flowers on those two vegetables. The female flowers need the pollen from the male flowers obviously. All the female blossoms with have a tiny squash or cuke on the blossom and the boys have nothing but an open flower. Happy pollinating.

Fox or Racoon or possible possum. I'm going to get even for their killing of pets here. There is a lake nearby full of frogs for the coons and they taste like chicken.
