Granny's gone and done it again

Liver is so good for you. I wish I knew how to cook it.
When I was really young, I went to this fancy restaurant with my family, and my dad got me duck liver. I had manners, but I was so disgusted by the taste and texture, I spat it out on the table.

Looking back, it’s probably little Pastel being a very young child (I was probably seven) but I’m sure that if I tried it now I might appreciate it. I’ve killed six chickens in my life, and I’ve gutted and stuff to way more than 6 chickens. I’ve grown to appreciate them and how they are. And I know how the food we get in the store is made, so I’m sure if I ever need to try duck liver again, I will.

Guessing he won't be long now. Those two were married 77 years. She was put on Hospice on Friday, passed today. He's been on Hospice for 6 months.
Hold up, I might be being really stupid. I know that there’s a past president on hospice, but I forget his name. It is Jimmy Carter, right? And that’s so sad 😞

I don't typically let anyone run over me, if they try they get a rude awakening. My wife certainly doesn't run over me. She's my equal partner, not my mother or teacher.
For instance, when we got married I was a much better cook than she was, a much better house keeper, a much better gardener, etc . . .. If you'd ask her she would say the same.
Nowadays though she is as good at all of these things as I am, but I have always considered her an equal to me, not below or above me. I am reaping the dividends of that effort now.
For many years she had considered herself to be way below me, she severely belittled herself. I am happy to say she is quickly growing out of that negative mindset and consequently is blossoming with life and loveliness.
when Tom and I married he didnt have a clue about the torture chamber. I asked him to make coffee to find out he never had so I showed him. He backed the pot up spilling it everywhere. I handed him the paper towels and when he cleaned it up I showed him once more. That man has made coffee for me every day for the past 29 yrs. well 30 really. Thats when we were dating. The best advise I ever got was from the show Married with children. She said if you cook them good food they will never take you out to eat! Hahaah It worked. Of course things have changed now with his health being so bad but I sure enjoyed those years.
Troyer, I love your mind set and thats all any woman could ask for.
