Granny's gone and done it again

I am still gathering materials to make more garden soil. And taking out rocks and sticks, and using the wheelbarrow to move the dirt where I want it to be. Loads of shoveling. Hubby put mulch over top of the cardboard I put down so far. Looks good. I was outside working when it started to rain.
Did I mention I started to plant some beans I found in the garden, in the goat area? Supposed to have rain for the next couple of days. Tomorrow is ceramics class again.

We're done with rain for a week now. Looks like we can plant beans and squash next Monday. Corn maybe by Friday. All depends on how well the excess moisture from today's rain is absorbed or dries out.

I worked in a nap today too. Ma and I did the chores together this evening. All is well in the coops except one. One of three Ancona pullets is missing. She may turn up yet. There was one this morning and while we where out doing chores another one turned up. They are notorious for being secretive. The coop door got opened up some how before we got out this morning. Don't have any idea how. The rooster and 2 Ancona girls look fine.
This is the second bird you've had disappear mysteriously in a couple of weeks, Larry.

Third Ancona girl turned up when I went to close up a rooster coop. She thought she was hiding between two big Hampshire boys with two other roosters in front of them. I eased my arm between the front roosters and grabbed her and it sounded like Armageddon. She screamed loud enough to disturb the neighbors down the road. She is back in her coop with her sisters and beau.
