Granny's gone and done it again

I never knew either of my grandfathers. Mom's dad was injured in a mining accident in the copper mines in Duncan, AZ when she was a little girl. He died when she was six and her twin sisters were about two. Her mom raised six little girls and a son on a farm by herself. Fearless! Dad's father was what was called at the time a wetback. He was caught bootlegging, deported and married another woman south of the border and raised another family over there. He became a pharmacist and put all of his kids from that marriage through college, while Dad's mom struggled to support her four kids over here. She would occasionally cross the border to visit him, and the two wives would happily cook in the same kitchen together, or so I've heard. He died when I was about ten. I remember Dad going to his funeral. A nice colorful history!

Blue, did he divorce before he remarried?
Oh. No, so on top of everything else he was a bigamist. But he couldn't divorce her, I don't think, without coming back to the states, and he was persona non grata here, so he couldn't. 🤷‍♀️ No win.

then his first wife, being the only wife would of been entitled to everything he had.
