Granny's gone and done it again

🤷🏼‍♀️ you get tularemia from ticks, not spiders, and dr said what's on my leg is spider bites. I really have no idea why they screened me for tick diseases. But I'm glad they did.
rabbit fever ! You could have gotten it from a few different things. Important part is healing..
Tan with gray markings. I will get better pictures once I got more cleaned off. It wasn't my intentions to remove the carpet but there was too much water under it. Including by the washer. But the tile is strong. Back in the day they made there stuff army strong!!!
Wonder if you can restore this?
Granny, got them sent off. Said Tuesday. :)

:yesss: Thank you! I am looking forward to it..

Been like that here also, Granny. I keep 2 gallon water jugs at the coop to haul water in and this month I've unscrewed the lids and found ticks under them. To make matters worse there is a black legged tick that is now being found in Missouri that is active all freaking year long. Used to just treat the dogs in the summer months but now it's year round because of them.

I took a course on poisonous insects once for CE and read that two of the first animals that ticks feed on are mice and birds so I worry now about ticks on the chickens. I think the ones I hate the most are the little tiny ones that have just hatched. Only good thing about them is that you can crush them easily.

The thing is ... I have NO symptoms of tularemia! None! Or rather, I had none, before they did the blood test. I had no
real symptoms of illness from the spider bites either, for about five days, other than the spreading rash and mild itch. It's only been since I've been on the Doxy for about 4 days that I'm starting to feel sick. NOW I have loss of appetite, mild headache and lethargy. DH pulled a little tick off my neck, oh ... a couple weeks ago maybe.

Ouch!

Agree with contacting doc especially since it is Friday. Especially since a fever generally goes up at night. Makes me wonder if they have you on the right antibiotic. Did they by chance culture the wound when you were in the ER?

Rest and push fluids, agreed. Tylenol, or NSAID for the temp and crappy feeling.

Did they want you to ice pack or hot pack the wound?

Sorry, nurse genes kicked in. Hi guys. Well, one 'coon down two more to go. DH thinks the one we caught was the larger of the three he saw. Not really big which is surprising since we have some gynormous racoons around here. One scared the bejeezers out of our first cattle dog. Poor Dingo hurt his ear trying to open the garages sliding door to get in one night and get away from one that was challenging him and that dog didn't shy away from much. I was glad, it was asleep when I dispatched it to wherever thieving racoons go when you dispatch them. Trap is getting set again tonight.

DH went to haul it back to the woods for the vultures and 'yotes to take care of and discovered the tractor had a flat tire. Sigh. Never fails. Traced it to a valve which meant he had to wrestle the beast off the tractor. Took us a bit of time to round up the breaker bar. I was worried about him breaking the lug nuts loose. He had another round of skin cancer surgery last week. I pull the sutures on Monday. This time on his right back/shoulder. 8 this time. One of the derm surgeons he sees asked him one day if he realized how many procedures he had undergone since starting with them 7 years ago. At the time, 36. This is #37 and that isn't counting the others he had through the VA prior to getting VA community care.

Can't stress enough to make sure y'all use sun screen.

He finally managed to get the lug nuts broke loose on the tire and took it into the Garage in nearby Atlanta to get it repaired. Talk about catching a break. Replaced the valve stem, filled it with green leak stop goo and pumped it back up. 36$ out the door. Super nice guys and they never make you wait.

@CapricornFarm. I keep forgetting! I need to get a pic of the sunflower that came up from the seeds you sent me. I sowed some direct and started a few indoors. This guy was the survivor along with a cheerful yellow guy. I hope I can keep the birds off of the heads long enough to gather some seeds from them. Thanks so much for sending them last Christmas.

So pretty! Glad you are enjoying them. I have made several mugs with sunflowers, people seem to like them.

Blue look up Herxheimer Reaction. It's very common in tick born illnesses when the antibiotics get in your system.

Lymenet.org is a great site and forum for lyme and co-infections information.

Lots of co-infections have similar symptomology. What I noticed first was fatigue, general flu like malaise, and a nasty bullseye rash that didn't itch. It burned. I got the rash a few weeks after I got a lot of bites while clearing some land. After a while I had problems with balance, brain fog, double vision and floaters. DH couldn't find any reason for the latter two other than the Lyme disease I was fighting.

I worked through treatment and my concentration was so bad that I bought a thick spiral notebook and wrote everything down. Sometimes, only a word or two that would trigger my memory but I found it recently and showed it to my husband. He was stunned and said he had no idea it had been that bad for me.

Tick borne diseased are one of those things that unless you go through it, you don't understand how bad it is.

Two of the goats look like they may deliver any minute! Looks like I need to clean yet another stall!
Today I cut boards to make a wooden box to pile rocks in at the gate where Pippin dug his way out. I had piled rocks there, but he moved them last time he got out. This time I will add rocks and possibly concrete. I do hope to sell him soon.
I put up an ad on one of the groups on FB, but they threw my add out. All I did was post photos, and state" This is my buck. " and "These are some of his kids."
Danged Nazi censors.
