Yes, most snakes are active at night and prefer to hunt then. However, some snakes are active during the day, and others may be active at different times of day depending on the season. For example, copperhead snakes are usually active during the day in the spring and fall, but become nocturnal in the summer. They especially like to be out on warm, humid nights after it rains.

Chicken cacciatore, finishing in the oven. I made too many thighs (10) to fit in my Dutch oven to simmer on the stove. Had to use the biggest casserole dish I have, lol. This is actually a pottery item my late ex gave me as a gift, I never use it, it's huge. Glad to have it tonight. Smells delish, have never had it before. Lots of mushrooms and tomatoes!Can't wait!
