Hmm. Midnight to 1 in the afternoon is 13 hours. That's long enough to purge the nicotine out of the blood to reduce bleeding? Interesting. Did not know that.

I don't know the facts about it, but I believe it's less of a purge and more of a reduction. Nicotine interferes with clotting.

My morning is probably going to involve trying to reason with her with a low success rate. It's too much for her to go without at once, for too long! I'm mad at the clinic.
 
@SourRoses, I'm a recovered former smoker, my heart goes out to your mom. I know what she's going through! Both the addiction part, the nicotine, and the habit part, the action of smoking. There were times after I quit that I would "go through the motions" of lighting up, taking a big ol' drag ... very soothing, very satisfying, very calming. It's a complex habit. I did not set myself free if you know wwhat I mean.
