Entyvio is newer then remicade and humira. I have Crohn's colitis. Basically meaning it's just in my colon right now. Entyvio targets the colon. It s not as hard on the kidneys.

what is Crohn's colitis? My son has Crohns but he gets constipated when he is in a flair. I often wonder if he really has it.

guess I should of read twice. lol I just don't know much about Crohn's. I assume regular Crohn's effects more then just the colon?

They call it according to which part of the intestine is affected. Like ileitis if it's in the ileum (part of small intestines). Crohn's colitis if it's in the colon. Crohn's Colitis not to be confused with colitis.
Crohn's affects the whole thickness of the intestine including the lining. Colitis does not. Crohn's has a cobblestone appearance-skip lesions. You can have both constipation and diarrhea. A lot of people have both Crohn's and irritable bowel. Irritable bowel causes constipation.
Colitis medication won't control Crohn's. My sister has colitis.

DH has it in the mouth and the whole way to the rectum.
Everybody is different. Some people get fistulas (ulcers attached to the intestine and they tunnel through till they open up to internal organs or the outside of the skin.) Then they drain.
mine is regular Crohn's, right now they call it Crohn's colitis cause it's only active in the colon.

It helps us understand each other. When he's irritable and angry and other people think he's a mean person, I just know he's hurting in a way that the rest of us can't understand. If he feels irritable, I know to back off because I just don't know how he feels
