Granny's gone and done it again

I havent yet, I want to eventually raise most of my food though
We have raised a couple of crops of CornishX. We don't butcher them, though. We have a nice Mennonite lady that lives a couple miles away that charges me $2/head to do them for me. You can't beat that with a stick! I usually have her do 3 at a time for me since that's all I can fit in my refrigerator, and we have her do a batch about every 4 days till they're all done. After 4 days in the fridge, then they go in the freezer. We start when they are six weeks old.

that's nice of her!

They weigh around 15lbs each. Need to weigh them again. They turned 2 the 31st of this last October. They are always under foot when I'm around them begging for a treat.
You don't eat them though, do you, Larry? Or ... just the cockerels? @lovesfarms, he raises these giant chickens that are almost as big as he is, lol.

Wish we had someone local that did that service. It's hard on our hands trying to process our own. We did some this year and had some last night for supper. Good that our freezer camp is full up. We only process extra roosters. I think I'm going to get 15 CX pullets in the spring to breed to a white giant rooster we have. Our CX hens laid some really nice eggs their first year. They have gone into retirement now and are just enjoying the good life we give them.
