well at least I know if I do decide to "help" its ready. I love having them hatch in my hand. A thing some find nasty.
Except yesterday. I found that one pipped and dead . I opened it and held it in my hand for a good 20 mins. I was thinking about Laz. And then I realized, Pam, you are walking around holding a dead chicken in your hand and its cold and slimy. What is wrong with you ? So I gave it to Binks along with some eggs and went and washed my hands. My cats love me. THEN I started thinking , wait, Cats dont eat dead stuff like that so I went back and looked . It was gone, he ate it. I am also a bad chicken keeper.

I'm sure it was fresh enough for him to appreciate it.

It is very confusing not knowing what "dead" is. So I came up with a solution. If the cat eats it, it wasnt dead and if he sniffs it and turns his nose up then for sure its staying dead.
