Granny's gone and done it again

Ya know, I wrote, Not that it matters to me but.. Then I had to erase that because it does matter. Robert had an Indian Dr. dot not feather that said he had epilepsy and the seizures were when he was blanking out. The had him on some pretty nasty meds. My GS went to this Dr. and the Dr. did everything exactly the same as he had Robert and said everything he said to Robert and the same meds. BIG red flag. So I took him to a different Dr that admitted him for a week and I stayed there as well. They took all his meds away and kept the eeg? thingy on his head and there was no activity at all even when we seen what the other Dr was calling seizures. They were not. Word broke out and people started coming forward with the same story. Dr fled the country and back to his home. He was getting kick backs for every child he did that to. We couldn't touch him because he was gone. He was protected by his own country. Had he been from the US things would of been different

All the kids are on their roosts finally. Played some musical coops today. Had to remove 3 pullets that are a cross from My Infamous "Legs" and the Legbar hens he caught without me knowing it until they hatched darker than the other chicks. They have just enough Aseel blood in them to make them want to fight the roosters. They fight like a rooster. Now they are in with their match. A half brother that is the same cross. I know that they are from Legs as he was the only non single comb rooster on the property. The 3 pullets and the cockerel have longer than normal legs for their size and age too. They all have an exceptionally lovely feather pattern. Need pictures once they settle in.
Do you still have legs, the rooster?

Microchick I would be glad to share the grape jelly recipe with you. It is very easy to make.
5 cups of juice, 6 cups of sugar (or Splenda or half of each), 1 box of Sure Jel pink box, 1 teaspoon of butter. put the juice in a large pot and bring to a rolling boil. Add surejel and return to rolling boil. boil for 1 minute. add the butter (it helps keep foam down) Slowly add sugar stirring after each addition until sugar is dissolved. Test to see if it's jelled by pouring it off a spoon if it sheets its ready if not add more surejel (It's usually jelled) Pour into hot jars. put on 2 piece lids. water bath for 10 minutes. This makes 4 to 5 half pints. If you use all Splenda it takes longer to dissolve and foams more. It also makes less jelly 3 to 4 half pints.
I have used this recipe to make Strawberry/Muscadine jam use 2 cups puree strawberries and 3 cups grape juice.
Enjoy!
Miss Iris, I want to make this jelly too! Only I will try it using Truvia, one-for-one straight across for sugar. I will let you know how it goes.

Do you have a recipe for peach jam? The peaches are so good this year ...

Do you still have legs, the rooster?
No. I gifted him with his two hens to a great grandson of a customer that buys my excess hatched roosters. He came once just to see Legs after his grandfather told him about him. It was in the best interest of Legs to have a much younger able bodied person looking after him. I miss him so much but I know that he is being well cared for now.

The grandfather of the young man that now cares for Legs bought 4 dozen Legbar hatching eggs from me last spring. 44 of 48 eggs hatched. Hank the Legbar rooster is very attentive to his hens more ways than one. When one of the hens went broody and hatched 6 chicks Hank would even feed the chicks. Three of his sons that we call the Porch Pirates get handled everyday and are always underfoot when we sit on the porch. One we call Hector will jump up in my lap if he so much as thinks I may have a bread crumb in a pocket. When we let the Legbars out late afternoons they make a beeline for the porch looking for treats. They are spoiled.

That post was Rambling Iris.
Seriously? Crap, Sorry, @Rambling Iris Thank YOU for the grape jelly recipe. I'm going to try it even if I have to go out and buy grape juice to do it.

Sorry about that. Too many things to keep track of in my poor tired brain. Hopefully things will be settling down and my gray matter will be back to what passes for normal these days.

Receptionist at my PT business had a similar thing happen in her family only her son had an adverse reaction to a new medication and wound up at the Children's Hospital in Columbia Mo, over 2 hours from where she lives. She said, OMG, I had to drive 4 hours round trip every day, do you know how tiring that is? I just stood there blinking at her and she suddenly cracked up remembering I was doing 6 hours a day round trip.

I'm surprised I can remember how to tie my shoes at this point in time.

Thanks for the point out @Granny Hatchet.

Speaking of being tired, night all.
