Granny's gone and done it again

Obiviously the Vet who pg'd all the girls had NOT have much experience and Both 19 and Maiah were supposed to have calved before Comet, Enola is also due and then the "last" to calf will be Star.
can you tell if its nursing and normal sized ? Do we have a name for "granola" ?

From the looks of that upper pasture you really could use some moisture

the nice green stuff is actually in the "seasonal" creek bottom and dried up there.

We are pushing 6 inches short for the year. Town's cancelling 4th of July fireworks, Burn bans all over and fines for lighting off fireworks in city limits 150.00 in the county 1500 plus it a class B misdominer and possible jail time. 40% of North Dakota is now in the severe or extreme drought catagories

That's an awesome pic! Comet got all her yak sisters helping keep an eye on you. I guess Porter is guarding the rear!
Yep even Porter gets "squirley" when calves are around and we are trying to run them thru the chute to do the "pours"

ugh. Hope it doesn't last 5 yrs like it did for us. You have a well on the place. How deep do you have to go?

there are 3 wells one is the original hand dug and rock lined one which is about 15 -20 deep BUT according to Erv (born and raised on the place) it never went dry. Nice clear water to. The other 2 are 80 ft or deeper machine dug and electric pumps at the bottom and that water is always brownish BUt tastes fine.
