Granny's gone and done it again

Hahaha yeah they was new and sealed in plastic but the give me antibiotics, remember those big thick antibiotic shots we used to get what happened to those ?
They still make them i think. That is penicillin i think you are referring to. Have to use a wide gauge needle to inject that stuff!

I know, skin is tough! But it beats sitting around the emergency room for hours. Set my broken toe myself too, it was a spiral fracture. I did go in to get it checked because it hurt a lot worse than my previous broken toes.
How do you spiral fracture a toe, or am I old enuff to hear about such things LOL

Never had one, personally, but they probably don't work anymore. The bacteria are building more and more resistance. I went to urgent care years ago... stepped on a roofing nail that punctured my foot. I just wanted a tetanus shot, since I was way overdue, and of course it was the weekend. Flaky dr insisted on looking at the wound and then prescribed me a huge course of antibiotics... even wanted to give me a shot. I refused, didn't think it was necessary, as I made the wound bleed as much as possible to clean it out. That, and the nail went through the sole of my tennies and a clean, thick sock. She kept insisting and I said I thought we weren't supposed to use antibiotics unless we really need them. She gave up then, but gave me the paper and said to start them if the foot got infected. Yes ma'am. Foot was fine. No infection.

Husband took me in the bathroom to show me the dirt the cat got on the side of the vanity. Then he went back out, i turned and kept talking instead of watching where i was going, and slammed my toe into this heavy a $$ chest he put in the hallway that belonged to my mom. It never moved the chest an inch, but my poor toe was all bent over to the side and up. Hurt so much it took my breath away! No way to put a shoe on it so i pulled up and put it back where it was supposed to be.

I did the same thing when i was a teen. Never felt the nail until my shoe filled up with liquid... blood!

CRINGE!!

thanks for the fort idea wishing, Pretty sure that will change everything. It was probably tetnus you needed.
No problemo! I loved making forts with the boys. We used chairs and all the sofa cushions and blankets and clothes pins. Covered the entire living room and everyone had their own little fort with connected passages. We left the good ones up for days. They would even sleep out there, with flashlights, but that's usually how the fort got destroyed.
