Granny's gone and done it again

Hi pertnear! Sorry, I was off frying fish! Did you have a good visit with your family? Had to look up Abilene, and good thing you aren't in the danger zone for Harvey. Sounds like the Houston area is going to get dumped on. Hope Kiki has some floaties!

Nap time for you! :D How old are they... boys... girls?

How far away are they? My youngest son want to experience snow falling. He's been up to the Sierras to play in the snow, but says it's not the same as seeing it actually snow. It's on his bucket list. Should a 15 yr old have a bucket list?
No, I'm way north of any danger even though we have been getting good rain for the last few days with temps in the low 80's. I'm hoping for enough rain here just to get the burn ban lifted

KikI is now offically freaking out.
The rain has not let up.
I now have water up to my back door.
Streets are completely flooded in my area.
We had that situation in FL! I had to drive my car up on someones lawn to get out of the flooded road. Not fun.

My grandkids range from 2 to 7 years old. Boys on each end, two girls in the middle. They live near Sarasota FL on the west coast and we live in Southwest Virginia. 12-14 hour drive depending on the driver and traffic. My son gets little vacation time and i have no pet sitters.
You will have to work on that pet sitter! The kids are at a great age to have g'ma and g'pa around. I don't blame you for moving though. Kingfishers on the river... heaven!

Oh Kiki! Do you have an upstairs? According to the news, you are not alone and it is expected to rain a lot more. :( Officials want everyone to stay home, because the flooding is widespread. More people die in cars than anywhere else in a flood. Try to keep us posted and stay safe! Do the chickens have high roosts???

My neighbors just tried to leave...their truck flooded out at the end of my street.

We have had 10 inches of rain in the last 90 minutes.

I'm not worried about my "stuff"...just getting quite nervous about getting stuck surrounded by water.

One story house.
Put your kids and yourself in the attic if you need to. Put water and food and light sources up there plus blankets and clothes. And your hatchet! Love you all. You will be ok.

I think you should expect to be surrounded by water. They are saying more rain for several more days.
Do you still have power?
