Not really a recipe, but sure.

1 lb sausage
1/2 lb kidney beans
1/2 onion
1 bell pepper

That's what I used tonight. Just cook it all up, season to taste (paprika, salt and pepper, parsley, etc). Sometimes I use celery, bay leaves, etcetera. It's just meant to be whatever is lying around.

Rice:
Just double the water. 3 cups of rice, 6 cups of water. It's perfect every time.

I only used half an onion and half the beans because I needed the other half for chili tomorrow. Just play around and see how you like it!

Over 100 all week. 110 today, 108 yesterday. Can't do much. Worried about the chickens. Some are starting to molt. They don't seem very heat tolerant. Hopefully they will stay under the misters.

Smoked sausage is best I think. I like something green-onion flavored. I've used pork, beef, chicken, venison, and mixed. I've even used loose ground pork. It's pretty versatile.

Do you give them shallow pans to wade in? Offer watermelon or frozen berries? Freeze up some gallon jugs of water, they will lean up against them.
