Granny's gone and done it again

Planted seeds for broccoli, beans, peas, cucumbers, and kale.

I'm going to do flowers tomorrow. Zinnias, echinacea, and lavender can all be planted right now.
I always collect the seeds from my zinnias year to year and for some reason they look better than the one out of the seed packets. Sadly I didn't collect any seed this last year.

I got 5 zinnias planted before the rain. After the rain i went and picked up rocks the ditch witch spit out and put them along the base of my garden fence. Now i have rocks all the way around. It was supposed to rain tomorrow, but after the cat goes to the vet for her surgery i will try to do more planting if it is not raining.

We have been getting spin off weather from hurricane Harvey. Lots of heavy rain & wind. We have been so wet & cool this summer that I'll be lucky to get many tomatoes canned. They just aren't ripening. Makes me very sad, I hate store bought canned tomatoes. I will be going to a neighboring farm to pick a bushel of green beans on Thursday. He is willing to charge less & I know this person. He has bought many hens from me over the last 2 years.

Remember me next time! I found the same true with my lime basil. I had a store-bought one that went to seed and the one that sprang up beside it is twice as big and robust. I had planted puny little zinnias that I bought on clearance and they died, then after a month came back! I guess they had seeded. These haven't really bloomed yet, any day I hope. :fl

If you want marigolds or basil, I'm your gal. :highfive:
