It's cellulitus I would worry more about. If the skin feels thick and hot in addition to being red. It can get into the blood and be dangerous.

Last I heard Minnesota was about 1500 per month for 1 child

It would still hurt, but not out of reach for most people who are working. Can you imagine alimony on top of that? Be easier to just stay married and have separate rooms.
