My blue chick that I hatched in June has a big red comb and wattles. I bet she’ll be a early layer!

She’s a EE that lays light blue eggs. Hatched on Easter this year.

I’ve not had a broody yet. Thought my BO was broody but she still laid eggs. She just acted broody.

Never had a broody EE yet. Ameraucanas, yes. Insane broodies.

Well I hope so, because hubs is a pretty cool guy and can do just about anything he sets his mind to. #1 has a ways to go and several big hurdles before he can go down that road. Hoping an interest in cars will spark something in him.

Hubs just texted saying the boy is in heaven! It's great to see him happy and excited about something... pretty rare thing.

guy that bought my hens is on today looking for someone to hunt foxes or a dog to protect his flock.

Oh boy. Not a good sign. Fencing would be a good thing, but foxes are tough. They will keep coming back.

I picked her up and gave her a little toss. She made a mad noise then ran out and got a drink. I couldn’t see any missing feathers but there have been a lot around her pen.
