Granny's gone and done it again

Check the coop really good for mites. My EE was roosting in the run at night, and I couldn't figure out why. She was trying to get away from the mites. That was the first time I dealt with them. :mad:
ahh, good call. I just dusted . treated all them too.
 
they have been doing it for a while now and seramas are not supposed to be able to take under 40 degrees
Mine are hardy down to freezing, but in a dry tight coop. Man that bred them was around 6000ft up in the Sierra and had no heat in his barn. Said he lost a lot during the first few years.

I just strung the extension cords up to the bantam for the heat lamp. I put it on if it gets in low 40s or colder. They are getting older and I worry about them. Most nights it won't be that cold. 58 right now because it's raining.
