Granny's gone and done it again

There is a HUGE Monterey pine on the neighbor's property that is right near our house. I hate that tree. It covers my roof and patio and plants with pine needles anytime the wind blows our way. The tree is very brown this year, and several branches have died. I've been hoping the whole thing will die, because that's the only way they will get it cut down. Now that the rain is coming, it will probably survive another winter, darn it anyway! Like having a giant unlit Roman candle looming over my house. Just hope it never gets lit! And praying the wind blows the other way.

My neighbors have a ton of those and it torks my dad off. Gutters, roof, patio and the yards get covered but their house stays clean cause they planted them on the property line. Every storm we have to clean limbs and stuff from those dang trees. My dad has one but he has the limbs cut up high.. If he could he would have cut that tree down a long time ago.

Perfect! Much less to worry about, especially if the phones/power go out. Checkers by candlelight? Uno. Do you have a fireplace? You can do the indoor camping thing.
X 2 - embrace the adventure. As long as you/your family are safe and your home doesn't take any damage it can be a fun experience -- LOTS of fun board game time.

Teachers professional day so they don't have school anyway. It kind of worked out!
Here too, weird, but definitely good timing given the weather.

The wind storm hasn't even hit and most of Lacey is out of power. Wth!!! Must be the rain..

Maybe it's a matter of the weird phenomenon of people who live in the raniest place ever yet have NO idea how to drive in rainy weather taking out a power pole.

Thank you Love!!! I have a chill day planned yet again. oh well gives me more online time! You have big plans today? its a bit damp and foggy out this morning, gave me the chills!
Chill days are good days -- curl up in a nice, comfy spot with a blanket and the laptop.

Morning everyone, I've gotta get to my chores, then off to town for the day. Hope you all have a great day

Linda I'm glad you've only gotten rain, without wind. Fingers crossed that it will stay that way thru the whole storm. TTFN

Have a good trip to town!
so pretty!!! what mountain top is that with snow on it? so lovely!!

That's St. Helens -- it always looks grey/white on top even when it's not snowy because of the remnants from when it blew it's top, which is also why it looks so flatish on top.

Sometimes I think about trying to get some of those pine beetles and take care of the tree that way, but that would case more problems than it cures!

I have to get outside and take care of things before the rain comes.

Oops, hit the wrong button! Was going to finish by wishing you well, Linda.

Stay safe!

Hi Mare!

I was just signing off. Hope you are enjoying your rain, because I have serious rain envy. The clouds are here, but we're still waiting! I'm tired of watering and my big grapefruit tree looks terrible. It needs a good drink... more than I can do with the hose. Take care and splash in a few puddles for me! See you later.
